Protruding Euro Cylinder Locks

If it protrudes 3mm or more, then there is a method that burglars can use to take advantage of a weak point in the locks. They are potentially able to gain access to the locking mechanism in seconds with minimal noise using some basic tools.

Don't assume your protected

It is a common misconception that if you have a multipoint locking mechanism in your door that your door is therefore secure.

However, the locking points are controlled with a Euro Cylinder and that can be the weakest and most vulnerable part if it protrudes and is not of a sufficient level of security.

Installing an anti-snap lock will overcome this method of unlawful entry that is known as ‘lock snapping’, although a protruding lock is still a temptation for burglars as they will unlikely be aware which locks are anti-snap and which are not just from looking at the outside of the lock.

If your lock protrudes, then it is not the correct size and you should contact Lock Guy or another qualified, accredited locksmith to get it changed for a correctly fitted lock.
